I had the honor of giving a presentation at the Kainuu Brigade’s anniversary celebration on 27 March 2026. The Kainuu Brigade will be 60 years old on 1 July 2026, but the Savo Regiment was founded 400 years ago. It took part in the Thirty Years’ War and was already then part of a multinational army under the leadership of the King of Sweden. Many Finnish units have long and glorious traditions that are important to cherish.
