Eastern Finland military history sites at the travel fair

For the first time, the travel fair featured a joint stand for military history sites in Eastern Finland. The main responsibility for the stand was carried by Ilomantsi, Mikkeli and Kuhmo. Other partners included Via Karelia, Suomussalmi, Lieksa, Rautjärvi and Miehikkälä. The stand used the Liberation Route Europe logo, as all Finnish members of the network were involved. “Erkki Raappana” was also present at our stand.

Growing interest in military history

The fair attracted an impressive total of 56,400 visitors. Interest in military history sites was excellent, which says something about the present time and about us Finns as well.
